Q: I'm installing a cgi-script and it is telling me to create a .htaccess file and password protect it?

A: The "Protect Directories" tool in your control panel enable you to do just what you have been instructed to do. It creates a .htaccess file in the directory you specify and lets you protect that directory with a username and password.

Q: What is the password link for that's showing by the folders in the file manager?

A: It takes you to the Directory Protection Manager where you can choose what directory to protect.

Q: How can I edit the .htaccess file after I've protected the directory?

A: Go into your file manager, www folder, find the folder you protected. Go down to the bottom where it asks for a file name and type in .htaccess - and it will open it up. Then, you should be able to edit it :).
